Floating Quotes

Today, I reflected on a quote by Lisel Mueller – “What exists, exists so that it can be lost and become precious.”

The first time I read it, I thought about loved ones lost.

Then I realised it is not loss that makes anyone precious, but the coming into being.

Loss may disproportionately flatter memories, but it does not improve its value. What is precious is precious, whether it is present or lost.

But then I later found myself agreeing with Lisel. Conflicting thoughts are one of life’s beauties.

I am thankful for floating quotes that come into view.

Mastery

Toil is an undesirable imbalance between effort and results.

It is not flow.

Flow is a desirable balance between effort and results.

It is not leverage.

Leverage is a desirable imbalance between effort and results.

Mastery starts from toil, progresses to flow and arrives at leverage.
