Small leaks

Today, I got a cold call from my bank offering a package I once had and cancelled. It’s a special flexible payment card.

They were willing to offer it and deliver it to any place of my preference.

I remember cancelling the package because of the fees, so I asked the cold caller about the fees. They were worse.

I smiled and told her to call me back when the fees are reduced.

If there is one thing my personal finance education has taught me, it is this – Pay attention to fees. They are the small leaks that sink ships.

I am thankful for the small leaks I have closed over the years.

Scarred forever

The relationships you can’t seem to let go are the worst.

The worst relationships are the best at nurturing hope.

A hope that things will change if you only give more.

You give more. You give everything and more, yet nothing changes.

Then you blame yourself. What you have to give is not enough. You are not enough.

If you are unlucky, and most people are, you remain stuck in the sunken place. Lost forever.

If you are lucky, by some stroke of luck, something wakes you up. Scarred forever.
