Children

Today, I got a voice note from my friend on the new plot of his kids. They said they had a dream in which they were invited to my place to spend the weekend. He burst out laughing, and asked them to record their dream as a voice note for me. (Dreams do not only come to us at night. Some come to us as desires.)

Children are life’s purest beauty.

Obviously, my friend would not mind having the weekend free with his wife. He was sending me the voice note as a plea for me to acquiesce to their demand. At a certain age, parents practically plead for help with their children.

Sadly, I cannot babysit this weekend, as I have a couple of functions to attend. But I will save this voice note for doses of joy in the future.

I am thankful the gift of children and the joy they unwrap in us.

Quote for the year

On January 3, 2021, I wrote down a bible quote as my quote for the year. I usually do not have a quote for the year, but the words came to me from nowhere. So I just jotted it down, and left it in the cooler.

Earlier today, I went back to my old notes and I found it.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1 (NIV)

The words lifted my mood, and pinched the edges of my lips up in a smile.

I am now thinking of making “Quote for the year” a yearly tradition.
