Producers

Today, I jumped into Episode 5 of Money Heist.

It is slowly becoming a show that should have ended after the first heist. Everything now seems forced.

But I keep watching, because Episodes 1 and 2 were so good. Another example of sunk cost. I have invested so much in the series, I feel obligated to see its end.

Going forward though, there will be no particular rush to see what happens next. I will not even mind spoiler alerts.

I am thankful for producers that do not overplay their hand.

A thought

I read a quote today from a book Consolations by David Whyte –

“We stick to the wrong thing quite often, not because it will come to fruition by further effort but because we cannot let go of the way we have decided to tell the story, and we become further enmeshed even by trying to make sense of what entraps us, when what is needed is a simple, clean breaking away.”

It seemed to be delivered at the perfect time in an aspect of my personal life.

What is the story I have decided to tell about my life that defines my choices?

Does it truly serve me or it serves how others perceive me?

When will I decide these chains are not jewelry, but a symbol of slavery?

What will it take for me to decide?
