Children

Today, I put a call through to an old friend.

I remembered he had a child with his partner some weeks ago, and he was overjoyed.

I also remember how cranky he got whenever he did not get enough sleep.

So I called to make sure he was holding up well.

Interestingly, he was not cranky. He was totally loving getting less sleep. He couldn’t stop talking about his daughter.

I was so happy for him.

I am thankful for the gift of children and how they help us reprioritise what’s important.

We-We

We walk the steep path to a beautiful view.
We stand alone to lead our tribe.
We drink the bitter portion for a strong stomach.
We eat last so those in our care have enough.
We own our journey, our journey becomes us.
