A stroke of luck

Today, I learnt of another super spreader event, aka ego-boosting conference.

Now I have a friend battling with covid, and worse still, scared to death for her family, as they have been exposed because of her.

It is easy to forgive yourself for harm caused to self, but hard to forgive yourself for harm caused to your loved ones.

Luckily the covid test for her family came back negative, and she almost immediately started feeling better.

I am thankful for the lifting of moods by a stroke of luck.

Sales

Everyone you are interacting with is trying to sell you something.

And like in every sale, you are not getting the whole story, you are getting the part that will nudge you to make a decision which aligns with their interest.

Your best defence is to act like all decisions require another signatory, no matter how innocuous the proposal. Which is where married people have it better than most. They can always say, “I need to check with my partner.”

From good morning to good night, you are being sold to. Be intentional in what you’re buying and understand there will be tradeoffs – the parts of the story filtered out.
