Head start

Today, I had a heart-to-heart talk with my younger brother on the importance of a head start.

You cannot have a head start without starting early, with your head on the line, figuratively.

You risk it all head first, and then you never look back.

Without the inclination to start before you feel ready, you will always have people ahead of you acting as a measure of your progress. And people are a poor comparison metric.

I am thankful for mentors that nudged me to go all in, early, in spite of my fears. Because of them, I run my race on my terms.

Listen to what is not being said…really?

The concept of “listen to what is not being said” is one that should be used with caution.

A lot of psychopaths have been birthed by applying this concept without check.

Foundational to this concept is an assumption that your personal bias is right. A dangerous assumption.

What you think is not being said is usually more a reflection of you, than any clairvoyant insight into the unknown.

Better to clarify your assumptions than to take your thoughts as truth.

Clarify often enough and you will be amazed at how often you are fooled by your thoughts.
