Virtues

The longer the journey, the less predictable the highs and lows.

Why then do we take long journeys? The view and the destination.

The view holds all our stories, and we are nothing without our stories.

A short journey can be filled with arguments as to what the correct story should be, but a long journey allows for each traveller to own their own story. To be comfortably unique in a community.

The destination comes from the same root word as destiny – destinare.

We go on long journeys because destiny draws us in.

We know there are no guarantees along the way, but we hope the destination makes it all worth it.

This is why virtues are important. They provide the right balance between the view and the destination to keep you going on this long journey called life.
