The plain

Every story you read, hear or write is an abridged version, focussing on the peaks, valleys, slopes in-between or the peaks and valleys.

The plains are always missed out.

The plains do not make for great storytelling. After all, life as we have been conditioned to believe, is supposed to be full of exertion. We are supposed to always be on 1 or all of 3 struggles –

  1. The struggle to reach.
  2. The struggle to stay.
  3. The struggle to climb.

The plains offer none of these. In the plains, all you see is as all you are. No striving will bring you to higher or lower ground.

However, even those that come to plains, create stories of its peaks and valleys, because all great stories need them.

Interestingly, though our stories need peaks and valleys, our lives are designed to flourish in plains.

Therein lies the battle between a good story and a good life.

Peaks and valleys rule the journey. But as the individual reaches the end, (s)he embraces the plain.

Why wait?
