Boundaries

When the odds are against you, get even.

It is right to let time pay people back in their own coin, but except you want to die early (which is relative, because we all die early), it is also right to have the courage to set boundaries.

In the short term, setting boundaries is discomforting. People hate that they are not free to walk all over you and feel no remorse. They want the freedom to have you as a slave within their boundary.

In the long term, boundaries promote more sustainable mutually beneficial relationships.

When people are described, an important signal to their character, is the boundary they set or did not set.
