Productivity

People cannot give more than who they are.

To improve the productivity of people, improve their capability and capacity.

How do we improve capability and capacity? Trial and error.

There is a risk that we assume there are no resources for trial and error, and so we make rules and regulations, then ask people to read them and continually apply them. In the short term (which we are incentivised to prioritise), it saves resources to turn people into machines and just try to upload a program (commands) and then they just execute.

In the long run, people need to understand why. Why is this rule formed? What are the alternative solutions? How can I do this better or simpler?

To improve capability and capacity, people need to be incentivised to fail early and learn quickly.

Pointer

Matthew 5:13-16
“You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.
Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Homily:

We are created to be pointers to The Source, The Way, The Truth and The Life.

We should be clear pointers, not confusing pointers.

We are the light of the world. We need to help people see. Help them see the glory of God in you, that they may choose to also be in His presence.
