Bountiful Sower

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
The point is this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work.

Homily:

Simple advice is the easiest to dismiss, but it stands true.

Every day we sow. We sow the seeds that will bring fruit tomorrow.

If we sow reluctantly or under compulsion, we are bound to harvest prematurely and have a lose-lose experience.

If we sow sparingly, the harvest might be inadequate for nourishment and resowing.

If we sow abundantly, the harvest will be abundant and enough for nourishment, sharing and resowing.

The choice seems simple, but our decisions betray us sometimes.
