PTLG and YOLO

A not so surprising observation:

People with less time play the long game.

  • Old people take less risk with money, preferring safe incremental growth.
  • Workers about to retire, care more for their teams and are more measured in communication.

People with more time play the short game.

  • Young people take more risks with money, ignoring compounding and aiming for the big bang.
  • New entry workers make brash decisions, supposing that they can get another shot at life even though this opportunity slips.

The old keeps telling the young – “play the long game”.

The young keeps telling the old – “you only live once, take chances”

I think we need to listen to eachother.

There is value in a balance.
