Power

Wisdom 6:1-11
Listen therefore, O kings, and understand; learn, O judges of the ends of the earth.
Give ear, you that rule over multitudes, and boast of many nations.
For your dominion was given you from the Lord, and your sovereignty from the Most High, who will search out your works and inquire into your plans.
Because as servants of his kingdom you did not rule rightly, nor keep the law, nor walk according to the purpose of God, he will come upon you terribly and swiftly, because severe judgment falls on those in high places.
For the lowliest man may be pardoned in mercy, but mighty men will be mightily tested.
For the Lord of all will not stand in awe of any one, nor show deference to greatness; because he himself made both small and great, and he takes thought for all alike.
But a strict inquiry is in store for the mighty.
To you then, O monarchs, my words are directed, that you may learn wisdom and not transgress.
For they will be made holy who observe holy things in holiness, and those who have been taught them will find a defense.
Therefore set your desire on my words; long for them, and you will be instructed.

Homily:

The greater the power, the greater the self control and benevolence required.

Creator

God is the only creator that is not blamed for His creations.

Why?

He created creators. All the responsibility (and the attendant blame) goes to them.

Companies that understand this, create a platform of creators, not creations. When things go south, we blame the creators on the platform, not the creator of the platform.

Independence of thought

It is a dangerous thing to keep listening to the same people and growing a tribe of those that only listen to those same people.

No matter how correct people are, there is an opposing view that is correct sometimes.

By all means, take a stand, but do not ever trade away your independence of thought.

And if at any point you disagree with the crowd you’re in, yet cannot speak up, because dissent is fatal, slowly withdraw for your own good.

No crowd should drown your voice. If anything, crowds are there to amplify your voice.

Mind the message your voice is being used to amplify. Avoid replacing a message with a messenger. Humans come with more baggage than you can carry.

That a human says something that resonates or does not resonate with you, does not say anything about that human. It says something about you and the message.

Most errors in discernment occur when we see a message and the messenger as one.
