People

There are people that disagree with everything and anything that is said. They are generally called disagreeable. Tell them they are alive, and they will disagree, explaining why they are actually dead. If you insist they are actually alive, they will meet you with such a cold reaction, you will be convinced they are actually dead.

There are people that agree with everything and anything that is said. They are generally called people-pleasers. Tell them they are stupid, and they will agree, citing examples that buttress your point and how helpless they are. Flip it and speak of how brilliant they actually are, using those same examples, and they marvel at your brilliance in recognizing their brilliance.

There are people that neither agree nor disagree with everything and anything that is said. They are generally called bland. Tell them they just won the lottery and you will need to either repeat yourself or pause to make sure they are neither deaf nor dumb. Nothing seems to excite or dull them. Straight face in all situations, totally detached.

There are people that switch between being disagreeable, people-pleaser and bland. They choose who to be depending on the person they are talking to and what the circumstance requires. We are all these people. There is no one that is totally disagreeable, totally a people-pleaser or totally bland. We have our preferences, but we choose what works for us in the circumstance. Most times, we are wrong in our choice because our perception of people and circumstance are largely wrong, but it does not stop us, we choose who we are to protect ourselves.
