Write it down

When an idea comes to you, typically in an odd place, stop whatever you’re doing and write it down.

When a dream or nightmare wakes you up, before you shut your eyes again, write it down.

It might seem relatable and common place, making you assume it is stored in memory. It isn’t. If you don’t write it down, hard as you try, it will desert you and be gone to another.

The minute you notice something extraordinary in the ordinary, go the extra mile and write it down. You can only build on what is already there. Please write it down.

On a piece of paper, in a message draft, on a piece of tissue, anywhere, just write it down.

Too many ideas that could have changed your life have passed through your days. They have brought you momentary excitement, when they actually came to give you lifetime meaning. They have left because you did not pin them down. And then when you’re reading a book or taking a walk, you see your idea being made flesh by a random stranger your idea decided to flirt with, following your neglect.

Stop assuming you will remember. If it is important to you, write it down.
