Applied learning

A simple heuristic:
When someone says something you agree with, think of how it applies to you.
When someone says something you disagree with, think of how it applies to others.

Most broadcasts I have seen about top performance come from people that are poor performers. But they share the broadcast as a judgment call on those demanding top performance.

Most things people disagree with, directly challenge their sacred worldviews, and it does not matter if that thing holds true, they will conjure up a scenario where it doesn’t.

We hold on to our problems because they have come to uniquely define us and we fight those who show that the real problem is our lack of discipline – a lack of applied learning.
