Matthew 16:26
For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life?
Homily:
There is no end to toil or wealth. There is no end to desire or expectations. There is no end to worry or regret.
Why build life on an endless stream of “more”, when there is a rock of “enough” available just by the stream?
We get carried away with the external tokens of success that bring momentary pleasure and ignore the internal tokens of satisfaction that bring lasting meaning.
Life is invaluable and anchored within.
