If you want to learn about the value of time, try planking or wall sitting.
A minute draws out into its longest form and every extra minute is a major milestone.
An average song is 3 minutes long, I once tried to use the length of a song for my planking and wall sitting exercises. I had to stop this practice because I started hating the songs. 3 minutes just started feeling too long and I was wondering why the artists just kept repeating what had already been said. So I switched back to my timer, because I can’t afford to hate music – my true companion since birth.
As long as I have done these 2 exercises, they don’t get easier, I just grow more confident and push myself further. It is the same with all workout. The great athletes still sweat it out, but their consistency builds confidence and confidence is a lever. That lever makes it look like they go through workouts effortlessly, but they actually go through stress and strain too.
When top performers tell you that one of the ways to build mental resilience is through routine workouts, you have to try it to understand. When you can push your body to keep going through a rigorous workout routine which you voluntarily chose, you will more easily pull through volatile circumstances which you did not choose. Your body is the wildest animal to tame and it is never really tamed. There is always a chance that it runs wild again. Any human that can consistently tame the body, firmly has a grip on the mind that is directly connected to it.
Whatever you do in life, try to include a workout routine. It just improves your overall being, because the body is the fulcrum between all that is seen and all that is not seen. If you are struggling with consistency, no problem, acknowledge that you are and keep trying out different routines until you find one that draws you in every day.
