To understand anyone, look to their teachers.
When you study history, you find this to be true. Within each student is planted a seed from the teacher, that compounds – good or bad.
Who are your teachers?
They shape you, and continually form a reference upon which you measure your life.
Most times, your teachers choose you. Sometimes, it is a chance occurrence. Rarely, you get to choose your teachers. You can choose to be rare.

Luke 21:8
And he said, “Take heed that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name, saying, `I am he!’ and, `The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.
Homily:
Ignore those who lay claim to being able to predict the future. Look to the past, and you will find many like them littered, more as jokers than as people to pay any mind.
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” – Matthew 24:36
Pay attention to the One who holds the future, and you will be sure-footed in it.
