Radios

Today, I understood again why radio stations will remain with us for a while.

It is in the element of surprise on what comes next.

With almost every other media, you know what comes next, but with the radio, you never know. And if they have any sense, they would keep it that way.

I hate it that MTV and Trace now think it is cool to inform me about the song that comes next. It has never made me wait and watch.

Back to the radio. I heard some of my favourite songs from 10 years ago today. Out of the blue, the OAP just decided to swing the tune back a decade. It made an otherwise tortuous ride, pleasurable.

I am thankful for radios, and the ways they help to shape culture.

Potholes

Potholes are easier to solve when they’re small.

Avoiding them neither solves them nor keeps them small.

They are perfectly designed to grow into an unmanageable nuisance if left unattended.

Most issues in relationships are same.

Cue 140 – How we fixed the ozone layer

How we fixed the ozone layer

“Despite the fact that tackling climate change will be more difficult, I still think there are important lessons to learn from the ozone success story. We can tackle real global problems. We can involve every country in this process. And we can take action quickly when we’re running up against time. Perhaps the fact that we rarely talk about the ozone layer anymore is a testament to our success in tackling it, but it serves us well to remind ourselves that we are capable of cooperating on such global problems, which is why I like to return to and relive the story every so often.” – Hannah Ritchie
