For work that matters, a short answer: Who cares?
That answer can be interpreted in two ways.
- Nobody should care who gets the credit if great work is to be done.
- The one who cares the most should get the credit for great work.
Those who care the most do not care where the credit goes, and it is to them the credit must go.
