Short-term or Long-term

It will be naive to to dismiss one mindset over another as both have served their owners well.

There is a simple way to check how time serves you.

If you are quick to forget a good deed but slow to forget a bad deed, then you have a short-term mindset. It is a survival mindset. Remembering a bad deed makes you more likely to protect yourself from its likes in the future.

If you are quick to forget a bad deed buy slow to forget a good deed, then you have a long-term mindset. It is a flourishing mindset. Remembering a good deed makes you more likely to open yourself up for more in the future.

The thing with memory is that it is formed by us and then it shapes us.

Memories formed by bad deeds shape us into anxious beings.

Memories formed by good deeds shape us into grateful beings.
