I saw a dude almost get badly injured today as he tried to beat an automatic sliding door.
It was not that he did not have access. He just wanted the adrenaline rush of sliding through just before the door shut.
He ended up looking stupid and slightly hurt.
Out of empathy, I attended to him and made sure he was not badly hurt, then walked him to the clinic for a check-up.
He looked embarrassed.
Anytime you feel the urge to rush, know that you are paying a higher cost than the benefit can justify.
Rushing can become addictive because of the temporary spike in adrenaline, but it is indicative of trying to create a shortcut for a process that requires gestational preparation.
In every aspect of your life where rushing has become second nature, you are training your brain to harm you unwittingly. This is because beyond reason, you will act in ways to achieve a goal that requires better preparation and ultimately lose yourself in the process.
Don’t rush.
