Nigeria’s Children

We steal the innocence of our children too early in Nigeria.

Children are forced to grow up before they are grown.

They learn too early that the world is against them, and they build shields that constrain their development.

When they become adults, they will realize how much was lost by being Nigerian.

We owe our children so much that we can only pray they write it off because we cannot pay up.

All hope is not lost, but there is not much left.
