In laboratories, there is a concept called repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) analysis.
With repeatability, under defined conditions, a measurement system is expected to provide consistent results when used by a single individual. The degree of deviation of the results from the average of the results (otherwise called standard deviation) determines the repeatability. The lower the deviation, the better the system.
With reproducibility, under defined conditions, different individuals are expected to provide consistent results when using the same measurement system. The degree of deviation of the results from the average of the results (otherwise called standard deviation) determines the reproducibility. The lower the deviation, the better the process.
While repeatability is used to test the reliability of equipment, reproducibility is used to test the integrity of the process (which includes people).
In human relationships, the same concept applies.
Repeatability is called capability. Reproducibility is called character.
Capability is a measure of reliability to consistently deliver.
Character is a measure of integrity to do so wherever.
The more centered you are, the healthier your relationships.
