Anchor Beliefs

Forecasting is like studying history: confirmation bias anchors us in place.

In studying history, our ‘anchor beliefs’ block our ears from hearing what the past is urgently trying to convey.

With forecasting, our ‘anchor beliefs’ blur our vision, preventing us from seeing where the future leads.

The thing about using anchors is that, while we may bob on the water, we remain stationary.

Only those who lift their anchors before exploration will make new discoveries.
