As a writer, there is a different kind of hurt that comes from letting a thought that flirted with you get away.
It happened this morning.
I decided to do something else with a firm belief that the thought would stick around.
I focused my mind all day, but the thought did not come back.
I know well that beautiful thoughts that need a page are fleeting. Yet, I let it slip. Another example of how knowing is not enough.
I hope it comes back someday and that I stop everything else to write its image on a page.
