Hard

Learning anything new is hard at the start and continues to be hard until it becomes easy.

The point of ease is the point of mastery.

No one can tell you when it becomes easy, which is why, without long-term commitment, nothing new can be learned.

What is especially frustrating is how many times you have to practice the simple things while watching those who have mastered it do more complex maneuvers with ease.

However, when you gain mastery, you realize that complex maneuvers are just simple things done at the right time.

It is not just knowing why and how to do the simple things; it is also knowing when and where to apply them. And when and where is in constant flux.

If you are currently learning a new thing and it is hard, remember that “hard” is a filter that sieves the interested from the committed.

Only the committed gain mastery.
