I don’t know how to explain it, but there’s something wholesomely gratifying about a child accepting you and being playful with you.
On the flip side, there’s something depressingly draining about a child rejecting you and turning away from you.
Even when you understand that such decisions by the child are random.
Maybe we are designed to crave acceptance after all.
