Before you sign any document, read the terms.
If you do not have the time to read the terms, postpone signing. Nothing that needs your signature is ever so urgent that there is no time to read.
Your signature is proof of agreement, whether you have read it or not.
A delayed signature because you have not had the time to read the terms is a better conversation around your character than a conversation around signing without reading.
The pressure to sign quickly is often the first warning. Legitimate agreements can wait. Urgency in contracts usually serves the other party, not you.
Take the time. Every time.
