There was nothing about the morning of this day in 2014 that could have prepared me for how the day would unfold. Yet, when it unfolded, I embraced it like I knew it.
There is nothing about the days that followed that prepared me for the yearning my heart would hold. So many unspoken words, too many missed sit-downs, so many unwalked paths, too many stories left untold.
There is nothing about life that has been the same since the unfolding of this day 12 years ago. But I’m still here. I’m still here taking care of all you left in my care, including me.
