The End

What can you do when it is almost through?
No one ever knew that something so regular was coming, to break the one heart in two
Slowly replacing gladness with sadness and a bit of unhappiness too
Causing sunny days to be gloomy and blue
And no, it never plays fair and no heart is too new
Because love formed over the years, can still come unglued
The sound of thunderous tears to beat within one’s soul and ears
Heard only by the two hearts that have now been seared
And so now all alone they must come to that place of waste
Where only broken hearts are placed
Where many are unable to recover
And others are never again to find a new lover
And so they are fated one to be without the other
Only to fall further and further into that space
Where broken hearts are placed
