Straight lines

Risk is the certainty of likely unfavourable outcomes.

Risk is the uncertainty of likely favourable outcomes.

If you see no risk, an unfavourable outcome is certain.

If you only see risk, a favourable outcome is uncertain.

Higher risk, higher return is just adrenaline speaking.

Lower risk, lower return is still adrenaline speaking.

The relationship between risk and return is anything but a straight line. Only those with no skin in the game plot straight lines between past and future.
