Meditation is listening

That is all it is. Listening to yourself. All the chatter. And when you truly listen, the chatter stops.

Our minds keep screaming and hopping in various directions because we are not listening to it. And like an ignored child, it uses chaos to draw attention or embarrass you in public.

I have found that when I make time to listen to myself, there is an inner calm that ensues, creating space for me to listen to others.

We listen to others in the same measure that we listen to ourselves. To listen to others better, start with listening to yourself better.

Meditate. Listen to yourself. It calms the storms within and stills the storms without.
