If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.
Homily:
Unity of purpose is the most powerful force.
Whatever unifies a people is their strength. Strike at it, and the people are defeated.
In christianity, prayer unifies. Strike at that, and the relationship disintegrates.
In companies, profit unifies. Strike at that, and the relationship disintegrates.
In marriage, intercourse unifies. Strike at that, and the relationship disintegrates.
Remember the story of the Tower of Babel?
“The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”” – Genesis 11:6-7
A united people conquers.
A divided people implodes.
