Today, I saw another example of how little things can make a difference in people engagement.
When leadership struggles to connect with people, it is never due to a limitation of finances. It is usually due to the burden of biases.
Ask people what they need, ask it often. Ask for more than one answer, preferably 5 options. Typically, you will find that at least 3 out of the 5 options are things you can directly influence.
Get down to executing those within your control, and take your team on the journey with you.
Interestingly, resources flow to where engagement improves. As engagement improves, the needs that were previously outside your control become doable, if they still matter to your people.
I am thankful for the thoughtful gesture of celebrating Eid mubarak with colleagues that would have otherwise felt lonely today.
