Today, I visited some traditional leaders for familiarization.
Each one is a symbol of culture, and serve to actively moderate expectations of all stakeholders.
It is an unenviable role, because your personal views and choices are traded-off for a higher calling.
Everyday you must appear perfect and complete. A great vulnerability. A huge burden for any human.
But in reality, we envy them for the power and influence the symbol represents.
And so they do not just carry the burden of the symbol, they must also watch their backs as there are always willing daggers.
I am thankful for leaders that bear the burden of symbol with grace.
