Any text lacking inconsistencies is not speaking about the human experience.
This is the reason I smile when people call out the inconsistencies in holy books.
There is inconsistency in our lived reality, so why will a chronicle of that reality be consistent?

Science has proven without a doubt that smoking tobacco is harmful, but there are many who smoke till a ripe old age. The inconsistency here is not an aberration, it is life. The two realities exist.
When I hear a story that makes perfect sense, I know it has been refined to fit my world view, not necessarily reality.
