Today, I had a friend get rolled in for surgery. This is her second major surgery this year.
We prayed together, and I promised her a gift when she wakes up.
Conversations before major surgeries sometimes feel like goodbyes, but the positive energy from her made it feel like “see you soon.”
There will be some significant changes to her future following this surgery, but she prefers to continue life with gratitude, than drown in masking drugs.
I am proud of how brave she has been through this process.
She is not yet out of surgery, but I know she’s staying strong.
I am thankful for her courage – embracing uncertainty on the off chance that the certainty in it comes through.
