“I feel lost.”
Those were the words a friend greeted me with. I managed to blurt out, “Where?”
“I don’t know, just lost.” Was the response.
Then I realised maybe “where?” was not a bad question after all. So I doubled down.
“Where was the last place you remember being, before you felt lost?”
A long silence followed.
“I was here.” Was the whisper that came back.
“Then here is a good place to start searching for you.”
We both smiled.
Being human is both simple and complex.
No one expects you to have all the answers, it is literally impossible.
But they expect you to care, it is always possible.
