The hardest thing

The hardest thing you can undertake is responsibility for your own life.

Most things are out of our control, yet our life is ours.

As much as we revolt in our teen years to make our choices, we quickly learn that it is easier to revolt than to own.

We grow when we own.

Taking responsibility for what is outside your control, yet part of your life, is the mark of growth.

Think about any organizational structure. Growth involves taking responsibility for more than what is under your direct control. The leader that is unable to do this loses credibility, and the one that does gains even more responsibilities.

To make this hard task bearable, reward disproportionately accrues to the leader that takes responsibility.

The same holds true in life – those who takes responsibility for their lives attract disproportional luck.
