They do not react to what your mood. They just offer joy and see what you do with it.
If you reciprocate, they turn up the tail wag. If you do not reciprocate, they keep trying to connect.
If you shut them down, they give you space, and then come back again when you show any sign that you are ready to receive joy.
They have hacked the basic need of humanity.
The least and most you can do for any human is to bring them joy.
