It is a choice. It is a strategy. It is a desired result.
You can choose otherwise. You can have a different strategy. You can desire an alternative result.
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I ask myself 3 questions: Why am I making this choice? Why am I choosing this strategy? What is my desired result?
The last question helps me re-prioritize.
Sometimes, my desired result is to punish myself for procrastinating and ensuring that everything came to head. So, I force myself to deal with the consequences. My capacity always surprises is as I get through each activity.
Other times, being overwhelmed is a result of other people dumping the result of their procrastination on me. In such situations, I either delegate or reschedule. There is nothing in the world that can neither be delegated nor rescheduled.
Being overwhelmed is a choice.
