Present Struggles

I had a rich conversation with an old friend yesterday.

We discussed all the worries we had from 10, 15, and 20 years ago.

All of them paled in comparison to our current reality. Each one seemed so inconsequential; our struggles with them were the only things that made them relevant.

Then we discussed our current worries and how they would follow the same trajectory if history is any indication of the future.

It does not change our struggles, but it puts them into perspective.

Don’t kill yourself over your present troubles. Like dumbbells, they have no utility except to build your psychic muscles.
