The thing with pain killers is that they are a distraction.
They don’t help you find out what’s really wrong. They don’t contribute to solving the problem. They just numb us, temporarily. They sometimes actually introduce a new problem. They are good for quick intervention, but are detrimental in the long run.
There are people in our lives like that. We seek them as a distraction from our pain, they bring superficial laughter, they make you forget your pain, temporarily. These people are good as a short time intervention, but they are bad in the long term.
Like typical pain killers, these people are not the problem, they are actually the victims, being used and abused.
